Ordering, Shipping, Store Policies and Additional Information

For most items we can calculate the domestic shipping automatically. It will just show up in your shopping cart! (Unfortunately, some larger or special items require special shipping arrangements and we'll have to email or call with the shipping charge and details. This will be done before your order is processed.)

International orders are a little bit trickier. We've started adding some automatically calculated shipping charges to the shopping cart, but in most cases you will have to be contacted with the shipping charges once your order is submitted. This will be prior to processing your order. (Of course, you can always email first and let us know what you're dying to have and we'll send you a shipping quote.) Duty and third party fees may apply. This is totally out of our control.

We accept money orders (domestic and international), cashier's checks, personal checks drawn on U.S. banks, and Paypal. We currently accept major credit cards through Paypal processing. You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. And you don't have to sign up for Paypal to use this. Very soon we hope to be offering credit card users to the option to pay by phone or fax.

We collect 8.875% tax on New York State orders.

If you're paying with a check or money order, we hold your items for five business days until the check arrives here. After that, the item may go back up for sale. Your item may also be held until the check clears (up to 10 business days).

We do our best to get those "sold" signs up there as quickly as possible, but it is impossible for us to keep our listings "real-time". Unfortunately, despite our best efforts we can't guarantee that your item isn't already sold when you place your order. This, however, is a rare occurrence and something we would rather avoid, but unfortunately it does happen. We are working to update the website with a system to let you know which items are single items, or one-of-a-kind, and which are available in quantity.

On the other hand, if you see something marked sold, and you're just dying to have it, send us an email. There is a chance, albeit a small one, that the order may not be fulfilled. In such a case, we'll fire you off an email asking if you're still interested.

Most of our items are antique or vintage. Any items which are new or reproduction will be clearly marked as such. (Just to get more confusing, some things are old, but never used hence the term "new old stock".) Due to the nature of our inventory the sales are final and items are sold "as-is". We try to be as accurate as we can in our descriptions, and if necessary clearly point out any "flaws". If you have any questions about a description, please feel free to email us prior to ordering.
